Nursery Events September 2017 to July 2018
 
Friday 22nd September – Jeans for Genes
In exchange for a small donation, everyone is invited to come along to Nursery wearing denim or blue items of clothing to help raise funds for Jeans for Genes.
Jeans for Genes is a nationwide charity which supports children with life altering genetic disorders and raises funds to transform their lives.
 
Friday 29th September 9.00am – MacMillan Coffee morning
An opportunity to join us for cake and refreshments in support of MacMillan Cancer Care. Any donations of cakes and biscuits will be most gratefully received!
 
Monday 2nd October 5.30pm – Open Evening for Parents
An opportunity for parents and carers to explore the nursery environment, meet the staff and find out what your child will be learning over the forthcoming academic year.
Please note that we are unable to cater for children at this event.
 
Tuesday 10th and Wednesday 11th October – Red Group First Experiences Chat
An opportunity for parents to have a catch up with Mrs Brown and Mrs Douglas to find out how their child has settled into nursery life
Timetables will be available nearer the date.
 
Friday 20th October 10.30am and 2.00pm – Harvest Festival
Parents and Carers are invited to come along to nursery to enjoy hear the children sing their special Harvest songs. We will also be serving our homemade vegetable soup!
Please note that due to health and safety we can only allow 2 adults per nursery child.
 

Monday 23rd October – Friday 27th October – Half term
 
Tuesday 31st October – Halloween
Children are invited to wear their scary costumes to nursery
 
Friday 17th November – Children in Need
In exchange for a small donation, children are invited to come along to nursery wearing a spotty item of clothing or Pudsey Bear related outfits in support of Children In Need. There will also be a very special visitor in nursery on this day.
 
Week commencing 4th December  – Parent Open Days (main nursery)
An opportunity to speak to your child’s Keyworker about their progress in nursery. Timetables will be available nearer to the date.
Monday  – Yellow Group
Tuesday  – Purple Group
Wednesday  – Red Group
 
Thursday 7th and Friday 8th December – Parent Open Days (2 year olds)
An opportunity to speak to your child’s Keyworker about their progress in nursery. Timetables will be available nearer to the date.
 
 
 
Wednesday 13th December – Christmas Craft Day
Parents are invited to come along and make a special Christmas keepsake with their child. Timetables will be available nearer the time. Please note that due to health and safety reasons we can only allow one adult per nursery child.
 
Wednesday 20th December – Christmas Nativity
Our morning children will be performing at 10.30am and our afternoon children at 2.00pm. Please note that due to health and safety reasons we can only allow 2 adults per nursery child.
 
Thursday 21st December – Hat Making
Parents are invited to come along to nursery to help their child make a party hat for their Christmas Party. Timetables will be available nearer the date. Please note that we can only allow 1 adult per nursery child.
 
Friday 22nd December 10.00am until 12 noon – Christmas Party (Main Nursery)

Children are invited to join us for our Nursery Christmas Party which will be held at Oxclose Church.  Please note there will be no nursery sessions or Wraparound Care on this day. All children must be taken to and collected from the church.
 
Friday 22nd December 10.00am until 12 noon - Christmas Party (2year olds)
Children are invited to join us for our Christmas Party. Our party for 2 year olds will be held in nursery. Please note their will be no nursery sessions or Wraparound Care on this day.
 
Monday 25th December to January 8th - Christmas Holidays
We return to nursery on Tuesday 9th January
 
Monday 12th February to Friday 16th February – Half Term
 
Thursday 1st March – World Book Day
Children are invited to dress as their favourite story character  to celebrate World Book Day.

In exchange for a small donation, children are invited to come to nursery in sports wear.

We return to nursery on Tuesday 17th April
 
Week Commencing 21st May – Community Litter Picks
Parents and Carers are invited to come along to take part in our Community Litter Picks along with our staff and children. Group dates will be confirmed nearer the date.
 
Monday 28th May – Friday 1st June – Half term
 

Saturday 30th June 11.00am-1.00pm – Summer Fayre
Everyone is invited to come along to nursery for lots of fun at our annual summer fayre.
 
Friday 6th July – Nursery Summer Trip
Venue to be decided. Please note that all children will need to be accompanied by an adult on the summer trip and there will be no nursery sessions or Wraparound Care on this day.
 
Friday 20th July 10am until 12 noon – End of Year Parties
Children who attend our main nursery will have their party at Oxclose Church and will need to be taken to and collected from the church.
Our 2 year olds will be having their party within the nursery.
Please note there will be no nursery sessions or Wraparound Care on this date.
 
Forest Schools
As part of our curriculum we offer children in our main nursery a woodland experience which incorporates weekly visit to Herrington Park over a 5 week period. It is an exciting experience and the children will learn about the natural world, learn to use tools safely, how to keep safe, and look after each other as well as developing independence.
Further details will follow nearer to the time of your child’s visits.
 
Oxclose Food Bank
This year we will be supporting our local food bank in Oxclose. We will have an all year round food collection to provide emergency food parcels to people and families experiencing financial crisis. All donations of tins and non perishable food will be most gratefully received. Thank you

 
 
 
   
     
     
     
     
     
     

 
 
As you can see we have a very busy year ahead! We will keep you informed of all events etc over the coming year by text message and our TV in the cloakroom. We also have our own Facebook page which we will also use to remind you of events in nursery.
