Early Years Pupil  Premium

Action Plan for Early Years Pupil Premium.
Background

In April 2015 the Government introduced an inclusive pupil premium supplement to nursery school, schools and private settings to target the most disadvantaged 3 and 4 year old.  For those children who are eligible the school will receive a supplementary amount of £302.10 per child, spread across 38 weeks (570), equating to 53p per hour.  This additional funding is intended to help us try and clos the attainment gap between the disadvantaged pupils and their peers.

Rationale:

At Oxclose Nursery School, we believe that all children have an entitlement to high quality teaching, a total inclusion environment that supports all learning styles and resources that motivate and inspire a thirst for learning.  Therefore, we carefully target funding to ensure we meet the needs of all our children.
We aim to identify children / families and support through:

  • Family nurture groups
  • Support children and parent well-being
  • Targeted intervention
  • Inclusive language and communication teaching strategies
  • Provide quality resource to ensure all children participate in first hand experiences.
